Flimspitze 2,929 m

The frequently climbed Flimspitze with its striking summit cross can now be reached even more easily from the Flimjochbahn top station (Idjochbahn top station) and the Flimsattel-bahn top station, thanks to the new climbing trail.

At a height of nearly 3,000 metres above sea level, the Flimspitze is the highest elevation in the area. The 360° view from the rocky, exposed peak is stunning!

The round tour starting from the Flimjochbahn top station with a relatively short access path to the rope route seems especially worthwhile. The rope route with a continuous steel safety rope leads all the way up to the Flimspitze summit. From there you descend over an easy ordinary path north up to an anticline and then head in a western direction via a well-developed and marked trail back to Idalpe.

Generally no self securings are required for sure-footed walkers free of giddiness, however, we recommend a short safety rope for children and unsteady climbers.

Level of difficulty: A = easy (short stretches medium difficulty= B)
Route length / time required: 200 m safe ascend,
120 metres in altitude,

Level of difficulty ratings for climbing trails
B = Medium difficulty

Somewhat steeper rock terrain with small-stepped, exposed passages in parts. Vertical, longer ladders, iron grips, treads or chains. Some passage are demanding and strenuous. Without securings the rock technical level of difficulty can be between 2nd and 3rd level. Many expert mountaineers use basic climbing equipment. For beginners and children climb-ing equipment is definitely recommended and on longer climbs a short safety rope

C = Difficult

Steep to very steep rock terrain. Mostly small-stepped passages, which are almost always exposed. Overhanging ladders, ice grips and treads, which may be somewhat further apart (especially for smaller people and children). Often vertical sections, secured only with steel cable. In parts very strenuous. Without securings many passages would be rated 3rd or 4th level of difficulty. Longer upward climbs at this level rank amongst the grand climbing tours. Beginners and children are recommended to have rope securings to an experienced partner. Self-securings also recommended for experienced climbers.
